The Supra has been delighting sports car fans since the first generation was introduced in 1978. The third generation (badged A70) covered the period from February 1986 to December 1992, when it was built at the factory in Tahara, Japan. The Supra and Celica were also diverted in 1986, the latter newly based on the front-wheel-drive Toyota T platform, while the Supra retained the classic front-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout. Under the hood, a variety of different inline six-cylinder engines ranging in displacement from 2.0 to 3.0 liters. The mechanicals were related to the Toyota Soarer.
The all-new engine for the Supra was the Toyota 7M-GE with four valves per cylinder and two camshafts. A turbocharged CT26 version of the 7M-GTE also powers the car on offer. It produces 238 hp at 5600 rpm and 333 Nm of torque. At just over 1.5 tonnes, the dynamics are more than worthy. The engine is mated to an R154 five-speed manual gearbox, with a self-locking differential at the rear.
The offered car is completely in original condition, without corrosion. Minor details indicating production in May 1992 are occasional peeled bits of paint on the moldings around the windows. It was sold as new in Germany (first registration on 29 May 1992), where it was with the first owner (who also had the Magnat audio system professionally installed) until he passed it on to his brother in the Czech Republic. There is a service book from the first owner. The current owner bought it in 2016. Since then, she has been seen for example at Classic Drive 2020 (overall 2nd place). Subsequently, it stayed in the garage until the service a few weeks ago - turbo replacement, at 120000 km the head gasket and all pressure hoses were replaced. It's hard to find a better Supra: still with original anti-corrosion paint from the factory, complete set of three keys, unbroken and overall in great condition (photos will suggest).
