In its day, the Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior was a symbol of Italian motoring - light, agile and with the heart of a true racer. This model, produced between 1966 and 1977, continued the tradition of the Giulia Sprint GT but brought a more affordable alternative with a smaller engine capacity without losing any of its sportiness. By 1969, the GT Junior already had an upgraded radiator grille with two chrome slats and a redesigned dashboard. Weighing in at around one tonne and with a great chassis, this car was not only a feast for the eyes but also masterful to drive on winding roads. Under the bonnet, it originally had a 1.3-litre inline four-cylinder engine with twin-cam timing and the typically sharp delivery that Alfa Romeo kept as its hallmark.
This particular example, produced in 1969, had an interesting journey through Europe. In 2021, it was imported from the Netherlands to Slovakia, where it underwent a significant modification - the original engine was replaced with a two-litre unit, giving it even more dynamism. In 2024, the car moved to the Czech Republic, where it underwent a complete service, including an engine overhaul. The car also comes with a certificate of originality from Alfa Romeo itself, confirming its historic value. So today it is not only technically in great shape, but still retains its authentic Italian charm.
