The Mercedes-Benz W113 230SL Pagoda is an iconic model that has won the hearts of car enthusiasts with its elegance, innovation and exceptional build quality. Produced between 1963 and 1971, this car was nicknamed the "Pagoda" due to its distinctive roof shape, which resembled Asian temples. Launched in 1963, the 230SL was the first of the W113 series and combined a powerful 2306cc inline six-cylinder engine with modern features such as independent wheel suspension and disc brakes on the front axle. The car offered a harmony between sporty and luxurious features, making it the ideal companion for both long journeys and weekend trips. A total of 19,831 230SLs were produced, making it a prized collector's item.
This particular car, from 1964, has a rich history. In 2005, the car found its way to the Czech Republic, where it changed hands in 2012 and remains in the family to this day. In terms of recent servicing, two years ago the car underwent a general inspection including oil, fluid, filter, belt, clutch rollers and differential resealing. The spark plugs, cables and fuel float were also replaced. Then in 2024, another inspection was performed, during which oils and filters were changed again, including transmission oil, and a new distributor coil was installed. This consistent approach to care ensures that the car retains its value and functionality, which is crucial for future generations.
