Mercedes-Benz SL 380 R107

The classic SLC is one of the longest-running cars produced by Mercedes-Benz. The models designated as R107 (SL convertible) C107 (SLC hardtop coupe) were built from 1971 until 1989 and there were many of them: out of a total of 300,175 units, the SLC accounts for 62,888 units. The car was significantly successful in the US market, where up to 40% of the sales went. These cars are particularly recognisable by their distinctive rubber bumpers.

The third generation was the brand's only roadster during its long life cycle. We would add that the brand borrowed most of the chassis components for the R107/C107 from the 1968 Mercedes W114 mid-range model, which it paired with the M116 and M117 V8 engines, sourced from the W108, W109 and W111 series. The styling of both the open two-seater (rarely ordered with a rear bench) and the 2+2 coupe remained almost unchanged over time. Although the basic engines were inline sixes, most cars used one of the aforementioned V8 engines.

This is also the case with the car on offer, which is powered by a 3839cc V8 engine producing 157bhp (and 266Nm). The engine is mated to a four-speed automatic. The offered version was recently imported from Germany, but it comes from the USA.
